About Quikk
Kariuki has been a pioneer in the African FinTech space having built M-PESA’s first API, and now he is looking to tackle the broader API economy in Africa by building Quikk
APIs in Africa are hard to find, onboard and integrate. The ones that are available currently are either not visible, time-consuming (sometimes taking >6 months) or costly to integrate
Quikk is supporting companies in Africa by delivering hassle-free API integrations.
What does this mean really mean?
Cathy has an idea:
Take Cathy, she has a great idea to build a digital platform where local communities can buy goods in bulk together to reduce unit cost
She can’t integrate payments:
However, to enable payments, she needs to integrate the M-PESA payments API into her platform - for Cathy, this felt complex, and alternatives were expensive
Quikk can help:
This is where Quikk can help … for a small fee, they are able to help Cathy plug her platform into the entire Quikk API network of service providers (E.g., mobile money, banks, MFIs, Saccos …)
Cathy has time to focus on the business:
Cathy can focus on her business, while Quikk supports with access, configuration, monitoring and scaling all API integrations she needs
How does it make money?
For Digital Platforms (e.g., Cathy’s business): Quikk charges either a percentage of transaction or a fixed cost per API call
For Service Providers (e.g., mobile money): Quikk gets a revenue share based on monetization of APIs
